The global price cuts for U. generic medications have been very modest, according to Mehrulovic, but "for the most part are happening at a lower cost."
Walmart's prices are actually lower in Israel than in the United States, but they're still well below the national average of about 8 percent, he says.
He points out that Israel's price for the generic drug Nexium is actually higher than in the United States, meaning that Israel's Nexium prices are still higher than in the United States.
"We are having trouble getting this price to reflect the actual cost of the generic medications, and we are having trouble understanding what the cost of the generic medications are," Mehrulovic says.
